Privacy Policy

A Small Game, A Small Footprint

Stellaria ("Stellaria", "we", "our", or "us") is a cosmic-garden mobile game operated by Baemtech, available on the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android), with information at baemtech.com/stellaria. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the iOS app, the Android app, and any related services.

By downloading or playing Stellaria, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Information We Collect

We collect the minimum needed to run the game and read your sky:

• Display name: a nickname you type in (e.g. "Luna"). It does not need to be your real name. It is visible to other players on the leaderboard and to friends you connect with (see Section 06).
• Birth month & day: used only to determine your zodiac sign and personalize readings. We do NOT collect your birth year, so we cannot calculate your exact age.
• Zodiac sign: derived from your birth month and day.
• Game progress: your garden, plants, Cosmic Energy, streak, daybook, cosmetics, bond level and other save data, so you can pick up where you left off.
• Anonymous device identifier: a random ID created on first launch so your progress can be saved without an account.
• Optional account identifiers: only if you choose to sign in with Apple or Google to back up and sync across devices, we receive a Firebase user ID (and the email/name your provider chooses to share). You can use Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email" if you prefer.
• Social & competitive data: your friend connections, a friend code, multiplayer (Cosmic Duel) match participation and results, and your leaderboard score and rank.
• Optional "intention" text: a short free-text note you may write during the evening ritual, used to personalize your reading (see Section 04). Please don't include sensitive personal details.
• Purchase status: if you buy a Cosmic Pass subscription, we record which tier is active and when it expires — processed through Apple / Google and RevenueCat (see Section 07). We never see or store your card details.
• Notification token: only if you allow notifications, a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can send reminders, duel turns and friend invites.
• Basic device & app info: device type, operating system, app version and your language/locale, for compatibility, localization and troubleshooting.

Stellaria does not use the camera, microphone, photo library, contacts, precise GPS location, or any advertising identifier (IDFA / GAID), and contains no third-party advertising.

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used only to run, secure and improve the game:

• Determine your star sign and hatch your zodiac spirit.
• Generate your daily horoscope and tarot readings (see Section 04).
• Save and sync your garden across sessions and devices.
• Run social and multiplayer features — friends, friend duels, Cosmic Duel matchmaking and the leaderboard (see Section 06).
• Process and restore Cosmic Pass subscriptions.
• Send optional reminders, duel turns, friend invites and event notices (only if you opt in to notifications).
• Keep the game secure, prevent cheating and abuse, and fix bugs.

Our legal bases (where GDPR applies) are: performance of our contract with you (running the game and your account), your consent (notifications and AI-generated readings), and our legitimate interests (security, anti-cheat and improving the game).

Astrology Readings & AI

Stellaria writes your horoscopes and tarot interpretations with the help of AI. The reading prompt is assembled on our server; your zodiac profile (sign, birth month & day), the drawn card or daily context, your language, and any short "intention" text you choose to enter may be sent to a third-party AI provider (fal.ai) to generate the reading.

• We send only your zodiac profile, language and optional intention text — never your real name, contact details, photos, or precise location.
• Your inputs are used to produce your reading, not to train AI models.
• If you play offline or the AI service is unavailable, readings fall back to built-in templates and nothing is sent.

Anonymous by Default

You can play Stellaria without creating an account. On first launch we create an anonymous, device-based identity so your garden can be saved — no email or sign-in required.

Signing in with Apple or Google is entirely optional and only exists to back up your progress and restore it across devices. When you sign in, we merge your existing anonymous progress into that identity. If you never sign in, we never learn who you are.

Social & Multiplayer Features

Stellaria includes optional social features. When you use them, some information becomes visible to other players:

• Leaderboard: your display name, zodiac sign and score are shown to other players in the rankings. If you don't want to appear, simply avoid actions that earn a leaderboard score, or contact us.
• Friends: you can add friends with a friend code. Friends can see your display name, visit your garden island, and challenge you to duels.
• Cosmic Duel (PvP): when you join a real-time match, your display name and in-game battle actions are shared in real time with your opponent through our multiplayer service (Colyseus).
• Notifications about duel turns and friend invites are sent only if you opt in.

Please choose a display name you are comfortable showing to others, and avoid putting personal information in it. You can change your display name, remove friends, or stop using these features at any time.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small set of trusted providers to run the game. Each receives only the data needed for its function:

• Baemtech cloud backend & database — stores your game save, zodiac profile, friends and leaderboard data.
• Colyseus (real-time multiplayer) — powers Cosmic Duel matchmaking and live matches.
• Firebase Authentication (Google) — optional Apple / Google sign-in for cross-device backup.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications if you opt in.
• Firebase Remote Config (Google) — toggles features and game settings remotely.
• fal.ai — generates horoscope and tarot text from your zodiac profile (see Section 04).
• RevenueCat — manages and validates Cosmic Pass subscriptions.
• Apple App Store & Google Play — process subscription payments. We never see or store your card details.

These providers act as our processors or independent controllers under their own privacy policies. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers, and Stellaria contains no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

Permissions on Your Device

Stellaria asks for as few device permissions as possible:

• Internet / network access: required to save your progress, sign in, generate AI readings and play multiplayer.
• Notifications (optional): requested only when you choose to enable reminders, duel turns and friend invites. You can grant or revoke this anytime in your device settings.

We do not request access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location, or calendar.

Data Retention & Deletion

• Your save and profile are kept while your account is active.
• You can request deletion at any time from within the app or by emailing privacy@baemtech.com; we delete your server-side data (save, profile, friends and leaderboard entries) within 30 days.
• Local game data lives on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app or reset your progress in-game.
• We may retain limited records where required by law (e.g. purchase and tax records).

Children's Privacy

Stellaria is a general-audience game and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the applicable age.

Because we only collect birth month and day — never the birth year — we do not calculate exact age or build age-based profiles. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Correct or update your display name, birth month/day, or sign.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Export a copy of your data (portability).
• Withdraw consent for notifications or AI-generated readings at any time.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We do not sell or "share" your personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.

How We Protect Your Data

• All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/TLS.
• Stored records are protected with encryption at rest.
• Anonymous tokens are used so your progress is not tied to your identity unless you choose to sign in.
• Access to user data is restricted to essential personnel under strict controls.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.

Where Your Data Is Processed

Baemtech operates from Istanbul, Türkiye, and uses cloud providers (including services that may process data in the United States and the EU) that may store and process data in other countries. Wherever your data is processed, we apply the protections described in this policy and appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

Updates to This Policy

When we make significant changes, we will update the 'Last updated' date above and, where appropriate, display an in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
